Kendall Gold Pepino Melon fruits are sweeter, more aromatic, and larger than regular pepino melon fruits, good flavor even in cooler climates. Pepino dulce is a great contribution to cuisine. They grow in bush form or can be trellised. They are suited to Mediterranean climate, but can be grown as an annual in most parts of the country. We grow as perennials inside a large greenhouse. This particular variety is super delicious. It has a yellowish flesh that is crunchy and very very juicy. It’s stripes are a deep dark purple and look very pronounced on the vine.
