Grown for its thick, white melon flesh, and the wax gourd can reach to 30 pounds. The light green skin is covered with very fine hair and will form a white powder when ripe. The vine of this cold tolerant variety will spread. The waxy layer that forms over the ripe fruit protects the melon and allows for long storage periods.
